THE PARADIGM'S SHIFT

"The Paradigm's Shift" is a fusion of many styles, more variants than I usually use in a single piece. To tackle a subject as consequential as the nature of the human race and the "are we alone?" question, I felt the music needed to be pretty epic in its scope while still being able to take a back seat to the visuals at times. It does have my usual combination of electronic and acoustic components, borrowing from classical, film soundtrack, electro-pop, and other bits.
The video starts with a damaged clip of an interview I give in the year 2049 to French and Canadian intelligence services, they now being closely allied with a top level American task force in the investigation of abnormal events coming from outer space. The badly damaged clip introduces the musical piece in which symbolism depicts the unwavering drive for humans to explore, no matter what world we find ourselves in. The feeling that we are being watched makes an appearance as well. The fluidity of time and space, and the existence of multiple dimensions is also alluded to in the video. I try to capture the immensity of the subject matter with the music, a tribute to the human spirit.
